自分のオーストラリア計画を語る
If I were to plan a trip to Australia, I would start by considering what matters most to me as a traveller. Having researched various destinations, I have concluded that a three-week itinerary would be ideal. Not only would I visit Sydney and Melbourne, but I would also explore the lesser-known regions of Tasmania and the Kimberley. Located in the southern hemisphere, Australia offers a reversed seasonal calendar, which means that visiting during the Japanese winter would allow me to experience an Australian summer. What I find most appealing is the diversity of experiences available within a single country. Whoever travels to Australia for the first time is often overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the continent. If I had unlimited time, I would drive along the entire coastline, stopping at whichever towns caught my attention. Having saved enough money, I would allocate my budget carefully, prioritising accommodation near national parks rather than luxury hotels in city centres.

Q: 筆者がオーストラリアの宿泊で優先したいことは何ですか?
I visited this travel planning centre before embarking on my three-week road trip, and I'm so glad I did. Had it not been for their expert advice, I would have missed some incredible hidden gems along the way. The staff recommended that I visit the Blue Mountains on a weekday, which turned out to be brilliant advice as there were hardly any crowds. What impressed me the most was their detailed knowledge of regional Australia. They suggested that I take the coastal route through the Sapphire Coast rather than the highway, and it was absolutely stunning. Whoever put together their recommended itineraries deserves a medal. Not only did they help me plan my route, but they also arranged discounted accommodation at several eco-lodges. Having completed my trip, I can confidently say that their guidance transformed what could have been an ordinary holiday into an extraordinary adventure. I would recommend this service to whoever is planning their first Australian road trip.

ロードトリップ中に 'Pull over at the next servo for some brekkie' と言われたら、「次のガソスタに寄って朝ごはんにしよう」という意味です。また、'bush' は田舎・未開地を指し、'going bush' は自然の中へ出かけることを意味します。
旅行の計画や夢を語るとき、仮定法は非常に便利です。'If I were to visit Australia...'(もしオーストラリアを訪れるとしたら)、'If I had more time, I would explore Tasmania.'(もっと時間があればタスマニアを探検するのに)。また、'I wish I could see the Great Barrier Reef.'(グレートバリアリーフを見られたらなあ)のように wish を使った表現も練習しましょう。過去の後悔には 'If I had known about this place, I would have visited it.'(この場所を知っていたら訪れていたのに)と仮定法過去完了を使います。
