Working in a kitchen requires special vocabulary. You need to know words for equipment like stove, oven, grill, and fryer. Action words are important too: chop, dice, slice, fry, boil, steam, and grill. In a busy kitchen, communication must be fast and clear. Chefs say 'behind!' when walking behind someone, and 'hot!' when carrying something hot. 'Yes, chef!' shows you understood an instruction.
